MONOPULSE RADAR Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2183329 C1

FIELD: radiolocation, air traffic control. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in increased reliability of monopulse radar with simultaneous simplification of design which are achieved by way of formation of summary transmission and reception beams with characteristics independent of performance of monopulse channels, with preservation of homogeneous monopulse channels with through automatic phase control by outside monitoring signals. Specified monopulse radar includes antenna 1 coming in the form of two identical channels 2 and 3 arranged in symmetry with reference to axis of antenna, high and intermediate frequency paths 15-19, phase detector 20, generator 23 of monitoring signals in the form of extension monitoring responder which signals are extracted by former 22 of coordination gate and unit 21 of automatic phase control compensating for phase error in through paths with the aid of controllable phase inverters, error being detected by comparison of measured azimuth of monitoring responder with its true value. Formation of independent detection transmission and reception beams is carried out with the use of circulators 24, 25 connected to outputs of antenna through power dividers 27 and 28 and divider-adder 26. EFFECT: simplified design and increased functional reliability of monopulse radar. 2 dwg
