FIELD: instruments for analysis of spectrum of three-dimensional radiation modes. SUBSTANCE: method involves directing light beam, which is output by laser, directly to object through waveguide structure, which is made from aluminum oxide. Part of laser beam is directed towards mode generator, which selectively converts laser beam into one mode of sequence. Laser beam, which is reflected from object, is mixed to light beam, which leaves mode generator, in order to produce interference signals. Interference signals are measured by means of detector and are analyzed by means of programmable computer. Alteration of mode, which is produced by means of generator and analysis of produced signals, provides spectrum of radiation modes reflected from object. EFFECT: possibility of object classification. 16 cl, 13 dwg
