FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has bearing members designed as closed loops bent under posterior peripheral part of the optical lens of the basic artificial eye lens. Straight line segments of the loops connected to the optical lens body belong to its main plane. The line segments of the loops bent under posterior peripheral part of the optical lens belong to the plane that is in parallel relation to the main plane. The method involves positioning one of the bearing members on the anterior surface of the basic artificial eye lens and fixing the bearing members to the basic artificial eye lens. Then the second bearing member is stretched and fixed in the like manner. EFFECT: lower risk of traumatic and postoperative complications. 2 cl, 4 dwg
