FIELD: methods of production of tetrafluoromethane. SUBSTANCE: fluorination process is carried out at temperature from 1200 to 1600 C. Supplied to reactor are fluorine and combustion gas in form f propane- butane mixture. Upon attaining the temperature above 1200 C, supply of combustible gas is discontinued and only fluorine is further supplied. Produced mixture of products containing tetrafluoromethane with no chlorine derivatives and unsaturated carbon tetrafluorides is subjected to subsequent treatment with phosphorous pentoxide, two-stage distillation at pressure of 3-4 and 2-4 Mpa. Distillate from the second stage distillation is purified on zeolite NaA or CaA at temperature of minus 50-60 C. As a result tetrafluorimethane with content of main product equal not less than 99.9999%. EFFECT: produced high purity tetrafluoromethane. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 3 ex
