FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: carbon black, graphite or activated carbon are placed into reactor and exhausting gases after carbon fluorination are fed at ratio fluorine : tetrafluoromethane = (2-5):(8-5) vol. parts. Fluorination is carried out at 350-500 C. Process can be carried out in continuous regime using tetrafluoromethane as component of gases recycled from fluorination stage. Yield of carbon fluoride is 90-98%, F2 content is up to 60 wt.-%. Invention can be used for producing lubricant substances, oil- and waterproofing agents and active materials for electrodes. Method does not require catalytic decomposition of by-side products. EFFECT: simplified method, decreased cost, no use of expensive inert gases. 2 cl, 2 tbl, 10 ex
