FIELD: organic chemistry, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention describes the novel derivatives of 1,1-bis(heteroazolyl)alkanes of the general formula: where X₁ and X₂ mean independently O, S; Y₁ and Y₂ mean independently C or N under condition that at least one of Y₁ and Y₂ is N; Y₃ and Y₄ mean independently C or N under condition that at least one of Y₃ and Y₄ is N; each of R₁ and R₂ means one or two groups taken independently of H, lower alkyl, lower (alkoxy-lower)-alkyl and A means where W is O, NH; R₃ means H, alkyl or lower acyl; R₄ means lower alkyl or lower perfluoroalkyl, or their optical isomers and racemates. Invention relates to also their pharmaceutically acceptable salts with acids under condition that 1,1-di-(2-thiazolyl)-ethanol is excluded. The above indicated compounds are able to inhibit the slow neurons dying off in bilateral occlusion ischemia model in gerbils. Compounds show valuable properties in treatment of patients with acute and chronic neuropsychiatric disorders. Invention describes also method of their synthesis, pharmaceutical composition and method of treatment using compounds of the formula (I).
