METHOD OF FIRE SUPPRESSION IN MINES WORKINGS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: preventive measures to cope with situations in hollows of mines and workings of various purposes; applicable in suppression of places of spontaneous combustion and fires in mine workings. SUBSTANCE: method includes filling of firing or fire-hazardous space with medium suppressing process of firing. Medium is used in form of neutral gas- aerosol medium. Medium pressure is selected of values exceeding pressure in separate pores of methane-containing rocks. Running-out neutral gas-aerosol medium and space volume filled with this medium are subjected to acoustic treatment whose wave frequency shall be conforming to frequency of natural oscillation of methane in rock pores. Pressure of this medium is maintained, and its exposure to said frequencies of acoustic waves is continued until temperature in protected volume becomes equal to that of neighboring non fire hazardous section of mine with subsequent blowing of mine with neutral gas. Neutral gas- aerosol medium is used in form of carbon dioxide gas with introduction in its flow of particles of solid carbon dioxide and gaseous supersaturated ionized helium-water steam.
