FIELD: mechanical engineering; catalytic converters of exhaust systems. SUBSTANCE: housing of catalytic converter being simultaneously the exhaust manifold of internal combustion engine has double walls, heat insulation, end face covers with flanges, inlet and outlet branch pipes with flanges and porous catalytic units of reduction-oxidation type. Housing in provided with cross partitions dividing it into compartments corresponding to number of cylinders of internal combustion engine and holding the catalytic units. Inlet branch pipe members are arranged between cross partitions. Inner space of expansion chamber made in form of reduction-type catalytic unit is connected with common inner space of units. Expansion chamber accommodates engine heater with external heat supply installed outside the housing. Heater is connected with heat exchanger for cooling working medium of engine with external heat supply built into intake manifold of engine intake systems. Air branch pipe made in form of manifold is connected with housing. Air branch pipe is connected with engine with external heat supply through air blower. EFFECT: reduced consumption of fuel, improved cleaning of engine exhaust gases from incomplete combustion products and nitrogen oxides, improved recovery of exhaust gas heat. 1 dwg
