FIELD: mechanical and transport engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: rotary piston engine has housing with two intersecting ring cylinders, each accommodating two pistons, output shaft arranged in housing space and provided with central spherical part on which slots are made at angle to each other and to shaft axis. Pistons are connected with output shaft through units, each including sector part arranged for displacement in corresponding slot on spherical part of output shaft, and pin located in piston hole. Cylinders and piston of engine have curvilinear side surfaces. Housing consists of three components arranged so that angle of intersection of ring cylinders equals 60±2°. Slots made on side surfaces of pistons form expansion compensators on end parts of pistons playing the part of seals. To reduce friction, gas chamber is made on outer surface of each piston. Gas chamber is arranged symmetrically relative to piston longitudinal axis, being a cavity whose shape is similar to that of piston outer surface.
