FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method relates to machining of parts by means of abrasive tool with use of cutting fluids. Method includes steps of preliminary and finishing machining. Coarse-grained abrasive tool is used in step of preliminary machining with water-based cutting fluid supplied to machining zone. Oil-based cutting fluid with abrasive powder of sufficiently coarse graininess introduced into it is used in finishing machining step. During transition to finishing machining step abrasive tool is moved aside from machined blank for distance not exceeding size of main fraction grains of abrasive tool and size of abrasive powder grains. Surface roughness parameters may be controlled by varying the distance of wheel removal from blank and powder graininess. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
