FIELD: electronic engineering; television. SUBSTANCE: klystrode has cathode unit with set of separate cathodes, collector system, and double-gap buncher and catcher whose coaxially arranged cylindrical cases accommodate central electrodes electrically connected to case of respective buncher or catcher through internal conductors; electrodes have electron transit holes; cathodes have concave emitting surfaces designed for shaping converging electron beams; central electrode of buncher has fine meshes in electron transit holes which follow cathode shape; internal conductors of bunchers and catchers are bent through right angle in their center so that they follow shape of generating line and base of their cylindrical cases; catcher case is divided by means of radial partitions with slits into several cylindrical sectors each mounting separate internal conductors forming set of electrically or magnetically coupled oscillatory circuits; internal conductors of catcher are also bent in their initial portion over arc of circle and occur in plane parallel to that of its case base. Spherical concave emitting surfaces of cathodes provide for shaping cylindrical converging electron beams whose microperveance Pμ is chosen proceeding from condition that distance L between cathode and collector and size D of electron transit holes are found from equation Pμ ≤ 38,1(D/L)2.
