FIELD: electronic engineering; television image and sound transmitters. SUBSTANCE: high-power stagger-peaked transit-time amplifier klystron has electron gun, microwave energy lead-in, input, intermediate, and output two-gap antipodal-mode resonators. Case of each resonator is made in the form of cylinder with inner diameter D and height H closed on two sides with side plates carrying transit-time tubes whose holes are coaxial with those in bushing symmetrically disposed inside this case. Resonator heights, their diameters, and sizes of holes in transit-time pipes for all types of frequency band are chosen to be equal and effective characteristic wave impedance is chosen for each type of frequency band from proposed formula. Maximal gain per unit length of device is ensured in ultrahigh-frequency band at desired passband and output power level of television klystron. EFFECT: enhanced quality of amplified signal and stability of resonators under mechanical thrusts and heat loads. 8 cl, 6 dwg
