FIELD: methods of gas scrubbing to remove solid, liquid and toxic inclusions; applicable in power engineering, metallurgy, chemical technology and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of gases through inlet pipe to body of gas cleaner, passing of gas flow at preset velocity inside body of gas cleaner including its passage in swirled state through circuit slot, its engagement with supply in countercurrent of liquid to form emulsion layer and gas withdrawal from body through discharge outlet pipe. Velocity of gas flow passage inside body, excluding velocity of its passage through circular slot is selected to be reduced in direction to discharge outlet pipe. In this case, velocity of gases in zone of supplying inlet pipe is determined from relation V_n = (1.1-3.0)V₀, where V₀ is velocity of gases in zone of discharging outlet pipe; V_n is velocity of gases in zone of supplying inlet pipe. Device for gas scrubbing has body, gas inlet and outlet pipes, metering device of spraying liquid in the form of plate member, spraying device, circular blade swirler located in circular slot formed between body wall and liquid metering device and separating body surface into two parts. One part of body is made in the form of truncated cone whose larger diameter faces outlet pipe for gas discharge. The other part of body may be cylindrical or also in the form of truncated cone whose larger diameter faces outlet pipe for gas discharge.
