FIELD: restoration of crank shafts of internal combustion engines, for example of motor vehicles KAMAZ. SUBSTANCE: crank shafts are subjected to tempering for conversion of material of induction hardened layer to state of basic structure and for releasing residual stresses. Then shaft journals are ground to restoration size, hardened by nitriding or carbonitriding and subjected to finish working. EFFECT: increased service life of crank shafts with enhanced reliability. 1 ex
