FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves equalizing optical force and adjusting lenses axis orientation within sufficiently wide transition zone (axial and force test intervals) of each eye of the astigmatic pair. Equalizing the spherical and cylindrical component, that is of especial importance from the point of view of binocular tolerance, of spectacle correction in each of the matched astigmatic eyes within the mentioned axial and force test intervals allows to eliminate or significantly reduce difference in optical force to asymmetric orientation of adjusting cylindrical lenses without affecting the central vision acuity of each eye of the astigmatic pair.
