METHOD OF MASSAGE BY LEGS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, performance of massage by legs. SUBSTANCE: masseur acts by one or two legs on back of lying patient in direction from loil to cervical part on back, and on femurs, and leg cruses. Massage is performed with help of supporting bench and with use of one or several different zones of masseur's planta by stroking and/or, rubbing, and/or squeezing, and/or kneading, and/or pressing, and/or shifting, and/or vibration for 3-15 min. Procedure if performed daily, or every other day. Course of massage includes 3-10 procedures with repetition of course in 6-12 months. Values of applied forces in massage, particularly, in shifting and pressing are equal to weight of patient, in kneading, squeezing, shifting and pressing, 40-60% of patient weight, respectively; in squeezing, kneading and shifting, 20- 30%; in stroking, rubbing, percussive actions and vibrations, 5-15% of patient weight. Massage by legs is performed by whole foot surface, and/or heel, and/or foot vault, and/or foot rib, and/or all toes of foot, and/or ungual phalanxes of I-III toes of legs. Patient prior to beginning of massage is covered with sheet.
