INSTALLATION FOR MAKING POWDERS OF ALUMINIUM, MAGNESIUM AND THEIR ALLOYS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: powder metallurgy, particularly production of powders of aluminium, magnesium and their alloys by melt spraying. SUBSTANCE: installation includes melting furnace, intermediate vessel for melt, spray nozzle, dust separator and dust collecting apparatuses in the form of cyclones and hose filters joined by means of pipelines to closed system with gas blower and compressor. Liquid filter is arranged before gas blower. Lower parts of cyclones are joined with dust separator to united discharging device and they have branch pipes for blowing gas. Height of dust separator consists 1.5-2 of its diameter. Branch pipe for discharging finely divided fractions to dust collecting system is arranged in center of cover of dust separator and it is immersed inside dust separator by depth equal to 0.2-0.6 m and provided with unit for controlling immersion depth. Pipelines joining apparatuses of closed system are inclined relative to horizon by angle no less than 60 degrees. Disperser is placed under dust separator. Dust separator, dust collecting apparatuses and pipelines are made of stainless steel. Installation allows to make powders by spraying melt by means of inert gas and air. EFFECT: enhanced purification degree of circulating gas, high safety of operation. 5 cl, 2 dwg
