FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with producing aluminum, magnesium, and their alloy powders by way of spraying smelt jet with compressed gas on installations with horizontal or inclined direction of spray. Smelt from furnace 1 enters transport well of air lift 4 through overflow channel 3. The levels of smelt in furnace and in well are equalized. Nitrogen under pressure near 6 atm (advantageously preheated to 400-500 C) is then fed through gas pipe 5 into well 4, where gas-liquid mixture is formed and smelt level rises to a height by 300-500 mm higher than its nominal level thereby reaching upper part of well and overflowing into main space of fusion of stacking cradle 2. Excess nitrogen is withdrawn through offtake 7. When fusion of stacking cradle 2 is full, compressed gas is fed into nozzle 10 and, owing to ejection, smelt fills bents 8 and 9 of metal conduit and enters injector nozzle, whereupon operation by-gravity pressure of gas onto injector is achieved giving rise to spraying into spray chamber 11. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process. 1 dwg
