FIELD: airfield and highway construction, applicable mainly in erection or reconstruction of motor-road bridges with asphalt-concrete pavement. SUBSTANCE: functional joint has a chamber formed in the pavement, filled with mineralomastic mix, rigid member with an adhesion coating on the upper surface located in the chamber and overlapping the slab joint, Whose ends are positioned in a spaced relation to the respective ends of the chamber. The novelty is in the fact that the upper surface of the rigid member has in the section perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the joint a quadratic curve shape at least above the slab joint and/or near the ends facing the chamber ends; the pavement is applied onto the upper surface of the rigid member in liquid condition. Functional joint may be provided with an antidisplacement plate positioned in the chamber above the rigid member and made at least on its one side with through and/or blind slots and/or recesses. The through and/or blind slots and/or recesses may be made on condition of possibility of destruction of the antidisplacement plate on them under the effect of operating loads, and the rigid member and/or antidisplacement plate may be made of fibrous concrete or metal, the rigid member overlapping the joint may be made with projections or corrugations on the lower surface.
