STATIONARY BOOM Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC E02B15/04 E02B15/06

Abstract RU 2752881 C1

FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection during the technical operation of oil trunk pipelines and can be used to localize oil spills on open rivers. The claimed stationary boom (SB) contains at least two boom lines installed in the water area of the river one after another and at an angle to the direction of the river flow to collect oil from the surface and upper layers of water. Each line of the fence is made of floating sections, connected in series by hinged joints. Each floating section has a length of 11-12 m and is made of a pipe with a diameter of 500±30 mm, providing buoyancy, with a wall thickness of 5-8 mm with plugged ends with sheet metal 8-12 mm thick. The sections are equipped with lower and upper aprons, smooth from the stream side. Hinged joints on the stream side are closed with elastic bumpers from a conveyor belt along the entire height of the boom. Barrage lines are attached to shore anchors, while in the river water area, barrage lines are attached to bottom anchors by rigging assemblies for each section. The oil trap is hingedly connected to the SB lines and is a storage pocket made of rigidly fastened floating sections. The oil trap is installed at a distance of 20-25 m from the coast in shallow water.

EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of autonomous operation in standby mode to increase the efficiency in responding to an emergency oil spill in the river water area with the ability to start collecting oil from the water surface without spending time on installing a boom, the possibility of using SB on rivers in an autonomous state, the possibility to do without bank protection measures against erosion and provides free access from the shore ford and from the water on small vessels when collecting oil for storage or disposal.
