FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described is new composition comprising (1) low-viscous epoxy resin, (2) phenol chain extender containing more than 1 and less than 3 phenol hydroxyl groups per molecule and whose concentration varies from 0.1 to less than 0.6 phenol hydroxyl groups calculated per equivalent of low viscous epoxy resin, (3) catalyst which contains not more than 1 active hydrogen per molecule and which promotes self-hardening reaction between epoxy groups, (4) inhibitor which is Lewis acid and which is present in amount from 0.3 to 3 moles per mole of catalyst such as halide, oxide, hydroxide or alkoxide of tin, titanium, cobalt, manganese, iron, silicon, boron or aluminium, except for boron halide, (5) volatile organic solvent which is present in amount of less than 25wt % of total weight of composition, and (6) optionally polyfunctional cross linking agent. Composition is useful for making laminated plastic materials for electrotechnical purposes. It increases molecular weight in B-stage so that dripping is avoided, and laminated plastic material can be easily made from prepreg. Also described is method of preparing laminated plastic materials for electrotechnical purposes. EFFECT: improved properties of the composition. 12 cl, 4 ex, 2 tbl
