FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines operating on natural gas. SUBSTANCE: proposed internal combustion engine has main combustion chamber 1 with operating cylinder 2 and piston 3, ignition chamber 4 made symmetrically relative to axis of cylinder 2, furnished with ignition device 5 with ring spark gap 6 and connected with main combustion chamber 1 by two systems of channels: convergent-divergent channel 7 and additional channels 8 (at least two) to place cylindrical cavity periphery of cylinder head 11 in communication with part of ignition chamber at ring spark gap. Axes of holes 9 of channels 8 at inlet of ignition chamber 4 are orientated tangentially to inner surface, and outlet nozzles 10 are made converging, with sharp outlet edges. Nozzles 13 and 14 are installed in additional channels 8 for enrichment of mixture taken out of cylinder and additionally compressed in cylindrical cavity of head 11 by cylindrical projection of piston 12. These nozzles are used to supply gaseous and/or liquid fuel. End face surface 15 of cylinder head 11 is made flat over periphery. End face surface 16 of piston is made flat over periphery and concave in center. EFFECT: increased intensity of fuel combustion, provision of complete combustion of fuel, reduced fuel consumption and improved ecological characteristics of engine. 5 cl, 6 dwg
