EMERGENCY VALVE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: emergency valve is designed to shut off passage coupling tank cavity with breathing valve in order to prevent leakage of clear petroleum products into environment in emergency situation. Valve has body with seat and passage. Valve also includes cut-off member floating freely in body cavity between seat in passage and rest. Operating surface of cut-off member is shaped as spherical segment. Rest is made as perforated plate overlapping of body cavity from side of possible inlet of liquid medium. Cut-off members is turned to outlet passage in body with its convex surface. Cut-off member is positioned with its base on rest with guaranteed flow section formed between internal surface of body and operating surface of cut-off member. This flow section corresponds to outlet section of valve body coupling of tank cavity with outlet section when transportation tank is in normal position.
