FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of dimensions of apertures in material. SUBSTANCE: laser probe to measure apertures in thin plate of material emits laser beam and includes detecting system. Laser beam has major and minor axes which are mutually perpendicular. Major axis is much longer than minor axis. Dimensions of apertures are determined depending on share of light of laser beam passed through thin plate of material. Width of slit in different places is measured by way of identification of relatively constant quantity of light passed through thin plate when thin plate is moved with regard to laser beam. Invention makes it feasible to measure dimensions of aperture more precisely, to measure at least three various parameters of apertures-width of slit near ends of slit, width of slit in center of slit and average coefficient of light transmission. Measurement does not require scanning of plate with apertures. EFFECT: enhanced measurement precision. 22 cl, 10 dwg
