FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed technique includes following operations: formation of radiation pattern moving within search sector, spatial manipulation with moving radiation pattern over its width with level of 3 dB with velocity substantially bigger than that of movement, reception of signal, its selection by frequency, detection by amplitude and demodulation by manipulation frequency. Signal is detected by constant component of demodulated signal when gain factor of path is inversely proportional to level of signal obtained by detection. Extremum values of levels of demodulated signal are measured and directions corresponding to them are found by movement of manipulated radiation pattern within search sector. Measured directions are used to form direction finding sector, gain factor of path is computed by measured levels. Manipulated radiation pattern is moved to both sides of direction finding sector and abscissas of centers of gravity are computed in this case by recorded realizations of signal and their average values indicates bearing. EFFECT: stabilization of probability of false alarms in case of detection and increased accuracy of direction finding. 1 dwg
