METHOD FOR PROCESSING SIGNALS IN TAKING SINGLE-CHANNEL AMPLITUDE BEARINGS OF PULSED AND CONTINUOUS SIGNALS INCLUDING SUPPRESSION OF FALSE DETECTION ON SIDE LOBES OF RECEIVING-ANTENNA DIRECTIVITY PATTERN Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC G01S3/14

Abstract RU 2319161 C1

FIELD: processing signals in taking single-channel amplitude bearings.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes generation of directivity pattern moving within search sector between β1 and β2 (first scanning), then between β2 and β1 (second scanning), and again between β1 and β2 (third scanning) concurrently conducting cyclic frequency scanning. Then signal is received and pulse signal is detected by fact of excess over maximal level of inherent values. In order to detect continuous signal all readings are summed up across current burst with the result that detection amplitude is formed. Detection takes place by fact of given amplitude excess over threshold value found earlier. Detection amplitude obtained, detection frequency, antenna azimuth, and radiation flag are stored in matrix form for both cases. These data are stored in the course of each scanning and used for weighted processing detection bearings for each scanning. In the process detection amplitudes of pulsed and continuous signals are equalized by using standard coefficient selected by empirical method. Weighted processing is used to evaluate frequency of signal detected. Then selection is made from all three scanning processes: if radiation source has been detected at given bearing only during one of three scanning processes, it is ignored in next processing. As a result, matrix of detected radiation sources is generated.

EFFECT: reduced quantity of false alarms, ability of defining type of radiation (pulsed or continuous).
