CONTACT LUG Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: electrical engineering; wiring power transformers and apparatuses, connecting bushings to busbars. SUBSTANCE: contact lug has contact strip with contact surface built integral with clip provided with split threaded hole and hold-down members; side face of contact strip is joined with external surface of clip abutting against split joint of clip threaded hole and its contact surface is within plane of longitudinal axis of mentioned threaded hole; one of hold-down members is combined with bottom part of strip and the latter is joined with clip. Contact strip and hold-down members are provided with holes whose axes are unidirectional, that is, perpendicular to contact surface and, hence, perpendicular to threaded hole axes of clip; in other words, axes of holes in lug components are located in two directions. All holes are made directly in the course of casting the lug in simple single-split mold; mechanical treatment in lug manufacture is minimized. In addition, contact surface of lug is shaped by punch surface which is within split joint plane of mold. Such surface is easy-to-get-at for eliminating roughness in the course of service and repairs of mold. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture, improved quality of contact surface of lug. 1 dwg
