ROLLING MILL WORKING STAND Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly in shops for billet and bar rolling. SUBSTANCE: working stand of rolling mill includes housing with windows. In upper and lower portions of stand are arranged: nuts with screwdown mechanisms, three horizontal rolls with bearing assemblies in chocks and devices for regulating position of screws with reduction gears for rotating said screws. Intermediate horizontal rolls are mounted without possibility for controlling their height position, upper and lower horizontal rolls are engaged with screws of screwdown mechanisms. In upper portion of housing reduction gear is mounted with nut secured to its body; reduction gear is joined with nut by means of threaded roller carrying dial. Drive shaft of reduction gear of lower screwdown mechanism is joined with one end of output shaft of reduction gear, its other end by means of gearing is joined with threaded roller carrying dial that engages by its end surfaces with limit switches being in its limit positions. Reduction gear of upper screwdown mechanism is provided with nut, threaded roller with stem and washer for said stem. End surfaces of limb mounted on threaded roller engage with limit switches in their limit positions for disengaging drive unit. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, long useful life period of mechanical drive for remote control of positions of screws of screwdown mechanisms at controlling interroll gap. 4 dwg
