DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS DRY SWELLING OF POLYSTYRENE GRANULES Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: process equipment for production of granulated polystyrene foam for heat insulation in construction work and manufacture of packages. SUBSTANCE: device has vessel with vibrating bottom plate and means for dry heating of granules in air medium. Vibrating bottom plate is made with bent upward flanging over its perimeter provided with holes. Flanging edges are bent over contour to outside and adjacent to vessel walls. Means for granule heating is made in form of system of forced recirculation of air through holes in bottom plate flanging and electric air heater located outside of vessel, in system of air recirculation. Device provides for optimal conditions for continuous and economic swelling of granules to very low densities. EFFECT: simple in design, fireproof, ecological and easy in servicing. 11 cl, 1 dwg
