FIELD: instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: device includes elastic rope and first permanent magnet placed with preset clearance with reference to surface of article, magnetic system coming in the form of second permanent magnet and magnetic circuit with working clearance mechanically changed over by two-position shunt, flat measurement coil, ferromagnetic plate and frequency meter. Flat measurement coil is put stationary in working clearance of magnetic circuit and is connected to frequency meter. First permanent magnet is suspended from elastic rope. Ferromagnetic plate is anchored on elastic rope and is placed into working clearance of magnetic circuit with displacement relative to its longitudinal axis, close to flat measurement coil.
