FIELD: laser engineering; chemical lasers; auxiliary O lasers. SUBSTANCE: process includes delivery of alkali solution of hydrogen peroxide and gaseous chloride to chemical reactor, evacuation of singlet oxide produced in the process and waste liquid out of reactor, and stabilization of solution composition. Liquid is discharged from reactor through additional tanks each being evacuated and filled with liquid in turn followed by liquid transfer to vessel under effect of high pressure; liquid in held within vessel under atmospheric pressure and cooled down to operating temperature by injecting low-temperature liquid coolant into it. Device for producing singlet oxygen has chemical reactor, vessel holding alkali solution of hydrogen peroxide, liquid pump, chlorine source communicating with chemical reactor, and low-temperature coolant source. Device also has at least two tanks communicating with chemical reactor, vessel, high-pressure source, and vacuum system through shut-off valves; vessel is provided with coolant injector, waste liquid and gasified coolant discharge units, and communicates with source of alkali solution of hydrogen peroxide.
