FIELD: inductive-output tetrodes. SUBSTANCE: inductive-output tetrode has cylindrical ceramic envelope accommodating electron gun and incorporating cathode and grid. Input cavity surrounds envelope and abuts against electron gun to provide for modulating electric field in vicinity of cathode grid in the course of operation so as to modulate density of electron beam. Cavity is connected to two metal cylinders directly abutting against outer surface of envelope. Metal of parts inside envelope is of same grade as that of metal of cylinders and envelope material is placed between them. They function as chokes to reduce high- frequency loss from cavity. Cavity is tuned by means of tuning device spaced quarter-wavelength of resonant frequency from cathode grid area. EFFECT: reduced space requirement of tube. 11 cl, 3 dwg
