FIELD: medicine, applicable for preservation of needle and protection against an accidental prick after its extraction from the patient's body. SUBSTANCE: needle tip protector has a needle with a needle tip for accomplishment of body puncture with a dog such as wire attached to the needle end opposite the needle tip. The safety tube of the needle tip, bent in length, envelops the needle and has a connection on the front end with the first through hole, whose diameter is large enough to pass the needle through it. On the second end of the safety tube provision is made for a cap with the second through hole, whose diameter is large enough to pass the dog through it, but small to pass the needle. The safety tube of the needle tip has a length exceeding the needle length, therefore after a body puncture the needle is extracted by pulling the dog and the wire up to the moment when the needle is stopped by the cap, and in this position the whole needle finds itself in the safety tube of the needle tip; because of the curvature of the curvilinear safety tube of the needle tip, the needle tip deflects to one side of the first through hole. The needle tip protector may be used with a catheter, such as the internal or "winged" intravenous catheter, or with an endoscope. EFFECT: enhanced guarantee of needle preservation and protection against an accidental prick after extraction from the patient's body when the needle is used in a catheter. 6 cl, 3 dwg
