FIELD: thermomechanical treatment of shafts. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating, surface plastic deformation and cooling. Heating, twisting and surface plastic deformation are continuously performed, in succession, along torsion shaft length. Twisting of every heated section is performed through angle ϕ, where x is distance from torsion shaft end to section being heated (without shaft spline part, m; L is torsion shaft length (without shaft spline part), m; ϕ0 is limiting twisting angle of torsion shaft which service life completed, deg.
