FIELD: magnetic measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: magnetic field transducer has Y-shaped branched optical fiber, light source with input device at one end of fiber branched part, magnetooptical material film at end of nonbranched part of fiber, and photodetector positioned on the second end of fiber branched part. Device for delivery of radiation into optical fiber is made for excitation of axial mode only. Period of domain structure in magnetooptical material is associated with numerical aperture of fiber by relation . Magnetooptical material is illuminated by axial mode radiation. Radiation of zero order of diffraction on domain structure spreads along optical fiber and gets on photodetector. Radiation of higher orders of diffraction is dispersed in optical fiber coating.
