METHOD OF PRODUCING YEAST NUCLEOPROTEIN Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary and microbiological methods. SUBSTANCE: drug for prophylactics and treatment of gastro-intestinal conditions in calves is prepared as follows. Brewer's yeast is repeatedly centrifuged to give pasty precipitate, which is flooded with 0.4% solution of sodium hydroxide in amount corresponding to 10 l of alkali solution per 2-2.5 kg paste. Resulting mixture is stirred and kept 1 day at room temperature, after which centrifuged at rotation speed 4000 rpm for 10-12 min. To separated supernatant, 5% acetic acid solution (0.6 l per 1 l of supernatant) is added, after which rapidly stirred until total precipitation of yeast nucleoprotein is attained. Suspension is allowed to stand 1-1.5 h and centrifugation is repeated. After supernatant is removed, dense grayish white dense paste of yeast nucleoprotein is obtained containing 1.8-2.0% of nucleic acids. EFFECT: increased resistance of organism.
