FIELD: measurement of mass flow rate of materials. SUBSTANCE: flowmeter is used for measuring mass flow rate of low-density materials, particularly, gases under low pressure. For operation of flowmeter oscillations of its flow tubes are excited in preset mode which ensures formation of active nodes along upper sections of tubes. Sensors measuring vibration of flow tubes and material flowing through them are secured on tubes from opposite sides of active nodes as close to them and to static nodes as possible. Static nodes are created at joints of side branches of flow tubes. Distance at which sensors are positioned provides for maximum increase in phase difference between their output signals with simultaneous rise of signal-to-noise ratio.
