FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has column, casing mounted on column and provided with pivotally attached cover, germicidal lamp, and instrument locating grid. Germicidal lamp is positioned in electric panel fixed exterior to casing on its upper part. Electric panel and casing have common cavity for passage of ultraviolet light beam. Germicidal lamp ends which do not emit light beam are positioned outside of casing. Cover is made of glass capable of prolonged maintaining of transparency and cutting off ultraviolet part of beam. Electronic plate disposed in electric panel is adapted for detecting time during which cover is in open state, as well as total operating time of storage apparatus and germicidal lamp. When time during which apparatus cover is in open state exceeds allowable limits, related signal is generated. Apparatus may be used for medical instrument storage and sterilization. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced instrument withdrawal time and simplified construction. 3 dwg
