SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of sterilization, and specifically to bactericidal irradiators. A bactericidal irradiator is essentially a cavity with a light source of the bactericidal range of the spectrum placed in the cavity, in which the main part of the inner surface of the cavity of the irradiator is made essentially diffusely reflecting with at least one hole for outputting radiation from the cavity, and the total area of the holes for outputting radiation from the cavity of the irradiator is not less than the surface area of the germicidal radiation source.

EFFECT: fast and effective sterilization of local surface areas.
