FIELD: reworking tyres. SUBSTANCE: method includes three-stage grinding of tyres, sorting-out of ground mass after second and third stages of grinding; metal cord is separated after grinding stage; textile cord is separated at sorting-out stages; particles of ground mass which do not pass sorting-out are directed for repeated grinding. Plant for reworking of tyres includes the following components mounted in succession: conveyer for delivery of tyres, coarse grinding unit made in form of roll crusher, coarse fraction transceiving system in form of inclined conveyer and horizontal conveyer, fine grinding unit in form of roll crusher and inclined conveyer for discharge of fine fraction. Metal separator is mounted above horizontal conveyer and upper end of inclined conveyer. Mounted after inclined conveyer is primary sorting-out unit equipped with device for return of mass for repeated grinding. Powder grinding device is made in form of roll crusher; secondary sorting-out unit is arranged after roll crusher; secondary sorting-out unit is provided with return device and metal separator.
