FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: described are homogeneous calcium nitrate-based sulfur- containing fertilizers and method of preparing thereof. Solid gypsum and/or slowly reacting sulfate mineral is mixed with melted calcium nitrate- based fertilizer at 90-110 C and maintained at given temperature for 3-15 minutes and particles are then prepared at 80-110 C. Particles are prepared by pelletizing at 95-110 C and by granulation at 90-110 C. Fertilizer is essentially homogeneous composition of calcium nitrates and gypsum fertilizer and/or slowly reacting sulfate mineral, composition containing 0.1-5 wt % of SO₄-S, 14-19 wt % water-soluble-calcium, 16-21 wt % of total calcium content and 0-4.0 wt % of water-soluble magnesium. Fertilizer comprises microamounts of Se and/or Co and/or nutrient microelements such as Mn, Ca, B and Zn.
