FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolytic production of magnesium metal. 30-55% magnesium chloride solution is prepared at 120 to 200 C in service reservoir 1. Using pump 2, solution is fed through pressure nozzles 3 into fluidization zone 4. Preheated air 6 is fed by assistance of centrifugal fan 7 through burners 8 into preliminary distribution chamber 9. Using perforated plate 10, hot air is uniformly distributed all over the liquefied bed 11. Temperature of this bed is maintained at level 100 to 170 C. Distance from nozzles 3 to perforated plate 10 is controlled. Heating panels 21 are disposed over perforated plate 10. Dust particles are separated from released air 12 in cyclone 13 and dustless air is returned into fluidized bed 11. Finest particles not separated in cyclone 13 are collected in wet scrubber 14 and returned into raw material. Seed particles of magnesium chloride from hopper 16 are introduced into fluidized bed 11 by the aid of screw measuring device 15. Magnesium chloride granules are conveyed into screen 17 and fraction of particles with elevated dimensions is conveyed into crusher 19 and sorted on screen 20. Material with elevated dimensions recycles into crusher 19. Fraction with desired dimensions together with dust particles from cyclone 13 and those from screen 17 are fed into screw measuring device 16. Magnesium chloride granules obtained have dimensions between 0.4 and 3.0 mm. EFFECT: reduced expenses. 7 cl, 1 dwg
