FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method for foaming of recrements in steel manufacturing includes addition of calcium nitrate to recrements separately or in combination with carbon, which may be injected separately or in mixture with gases such as air, nitrogen, carbon dioxide or inert gases. Solid components are injected separately or through single jet or in form of premelted grains. Ratio between calcium nitrate and carbon is 4:1-2:1. Method for recrement foaming in stainless steel manufacturing in steel-making furnace includes insertion or injection of calcium nitrate and carbon in gas flow mentioned above after addition of FeSi, Al or Mg to recrement.

EFFECT: recrement foaming with improved effectiveness, in particular in stainless steel manufacturing, and prevention of problem arisen when known foaming agent are used.
