SUBSTANCE: method consists in mutual coordination of parameters of weakening seam edge zone and support bearing force parameters at which resultant of external active load 1_Q will be located from breakage face at distance larger than distance from breakage face to resultant of support resistance 1_R.. It is attained due to the fact that in mining of seams with insecure rocks of roof, depth of weakening of mineral seam in front of breakage face is taken less than limit depth at which 1_Q≅ 1_R In this case, mineral seam bearing capacity is taken larger than weight of column of roof rocks located above zone of seam weakening and lost connection with overlaying rocks. EFFECT: reduced process of outburst in breakage face in taking measures for weakening of seam edge zone, increased efficiency of plough coal mining by selection of optimal support resistance ensuring maximum extraction of coal with insecure immediate roof. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
