SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying cellulose to single-stage or multiple-stage washing system; washing supplied cellulose and discharging it from washing system; supplying washing solution into washing system and discharging at least one filtrate from washing system. Upon termination of washing process, part of at least one filtrate is directed from suction, pressure and/or condensation stage to previous washing stage to be used as washing solution. Method and washing system are used for intensified washing of cellulose in various washing machines, as well as in some washing presses.
