FIELD: nuclear engineering. SUBSTANCE: fast shutdown of fully deenergized turbogenerator by using residual heat release of reactor and accumulated heat energy is proposed for steam generation and its transfer to specially designed additional steam-turbine unit. The latter, being supplied with steam from main pipeline, provides for desired flowrate of feedwater to steam-generating facility of power unit through standard water flow regulators and oil controls passing oil to bearings of standard turbogenerator. At the same time, rotor of standard turbogenerator is electrodynamically stopped with aid of electrodynamic braking system (generator run-out condition). In the process, electrical energy is passed from generator to loading ballast resistor. Field winding of standard generator during its run-out period as well as control and data recording system are supplied with power from dc generator mounted on turbine shaft of steam-turbine unit. With power unit fully deenergized, it is easy to eliminate peak of residual heat release, to partially cool and shut down turbogenerator while device is operating at temperature excursion of power unit. EFFECT: improved reliability and safety of power unit, increased time for troubleshooting and recovery of its normal power supply. 10 cl, 1 dwg
