FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention solves problem of reduction of error of measurement of amount of liquid in tank, of expansion of functional capabilities of process, of simplified design and enhanced operational reliability of device for implementation of proposed process, of reduction of cost of process and device. Level and density of liquid in accordance with process are determined by transducers measuring forces acting of bodies, first one having variable degree of submersion depending on amount of liquid in tank and second one being completely submerged in liquid and are calculated by following formulas: and where ρ is density of liquid; h is level of liquid in tank; g is acceleration of free fall; ho is distance from tank bottom to first body; m1, P1, S1 are correspondingly mass, weight and area of cross-section of body having variable degree of submersion depending on amount of liquid in tank; m2, P2, V2 are correspondingly mass, weight and volume of completely submerged body; Δh is correction to level for slope of tank. In this case correction to level for slope of tank is found by measurement of its tilt with the use of transducer of angle of turn.
