FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: device to monitor fuel consumption includes a reservoir with a cover filled to the specified level and installed on the floor of a railway vehicle. On the reservoir's cover or on its side wall there is a sensor of fuel monitoring with a measurement unit, a temperature sensor and a sensor of reservoir turn angle. The sensor of reservoir turn angle is made as an electronic level, which determines the angular position of the reservoir relative to the horizon in two directions: a longitudinal one, along the track axis - angle α, and in a transverse one - angle f with appropriate deviations along height hα and hf. Results of measurements by the fuel monitoring sensor with account of its location coordinates l and m, angles α and f, and workspace dimensions L and M of the reservoir serve as initial data for a microprocessor measurement system to determine the current level and volume, and also fuel consumption in the reservoir of the railway vehicle.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and stability of fuel level and volume measurement in the reservoir and flow consumption by internal combustion engines of the railway transport.
