FIELD: automatic- control systems for identifying entities. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping two-dimensional digital images of entities by means of computer system for segmenting entity images, measuring characteristics of segmented image of chosen entity, computing specifiers on their basis, comparing them with memorized specifiers of segmented images of alphabet entities, and identifying the entity basing on comparison data. Segmented image of alphabet entity is used to generate education sample involving turns and scale changes , descriptions of alphabet entity shape specifiers are shaped in computer system memory in the form of dependencies showing statistical estimates of specifiers as a function of size of segmented alphabet entity images, dimensions are measured, and shape specifiers chosen for entity are computed; regarding measured dimensions, values of statistical estimates of alphabet entity specifiers are retrieved from computer system memory; then chosen entity is identified basing on comparison data.
