FIELD: chemical technology, catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to isolation of palladium-base catalyst from medium forming as result of carrying out the hydroxycarbonylation reaction of butadiene to pentenoic acids. Invention involves method of isolation of at least part of palladium dissolved in solution that has at least 3-pentenoic acid. The above mentioned solution is acidified and stirred with hydrochloric acid aqueous solution and two liquid phases are obtained. An aqueous phase has at least part of palladium. Invention provides the isolation of at least part of palladium catalyst dissolved in medium to be treated in the form of organometallic complex in order to have the possibility to recycle this palladium catalyst to the novel reaction of butadiene hydroxycarbonylation.
